Developer Portal Documentation

Welcome to the AI Factory Developer Portal — the self-service gateway for accessing AI models hosted on the TU Wien AI Factory infrastructure.

What is the Developer Portal?​

The Developer Portal lets researchers and developers:

  • Authenticate with their institutional account
  • Generate an API key to make requests to AI models
  • Browse the AI Catalog to discover all available models and request access
  • Monitor usage through the built-in dashboard

How Access Works​

All available models are visible in the AI Catalog — even before you have access to them. Models you have been granted access to are highlighted in green and ready to use. For others, you can submit a Request Access directly from the catalog. Admins review requests and approve or deny them.

Quick Start​

  1. Log in with your institutional account at dev-portal.ai-factory.datalab.tuwien.ac.at
  2. Go to API Keys and generate your key
  3. Open AI Catalog, browse available models, and click Request Access for the ones you need
  4. Once an admin approves your request, the model will be highlighted in the catalog — you can start making requests immediately
  5. Use your API key in the apikey header when calling models

Getting Help​

If you have questions about the platform or need urgent access, reach out to a platform admin. Admins can also manually grant access from the Admin → Model Access panel.
