Getting Started

1. Log In​

Navigate to dev-portal.ai-factory.datalab.tuwien.ac.at.

You will be redirected to the identity provider for authentication. Log in with your institutional credentials. Once authenticated, you are redirected back to the portal dashboard.

2. Generate an API Key​

Go to Developer → API Keys in the sidebar.

Click Generate API Key. Your key is shown once, so copy it and store it safely. It cannot be retrieved later, but you can revoke and regenerate it at any time.

caution

Treat your API key like a password. Do not commit it to version control or share it publicly.

3. Browse the AI Catalog and Request Access​

Go to Platform → AI Catalog. You will see all available models, both those you already have access to and those you do not.

  • Green (Granted): you can use this model right now
  • Pending: you have submitted a request that is waiting for admin approval
  • Request Access: click this button to submit an access request for a model

Once your request is approved, the model will turn green and become available immediately.

4. Make Your First Request​

Once you have at least one granted model, click on it in the catalog to see its endpoint and example usage.

Replace <your-api-key> and <model> with the values shown in the catalog for your specific model.
